PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Government is striving to realize sustainable health development through various environmental and social programs.

This includes collaborating with the Healthy Bandung Forum (FBS) as one of the main driving forces that acts as a strategic partner for the Bandung City Government.

Efforts to make Bandung a superior, open, trustworthy, advanced, and religious city continue to be carried out with a spirit of collaboration.

The government and society work together to create a livable, productive and prosperous environment for all its citizens.

"Health is a primary need. Bandung not only wants to be a beautiful city, but also a healthy, clean, and happy city for all its citizens," said Bandung City Secretary Iskandar Zulkarnain at the inauguration of the Bandung City FBS Management for the 2025-2029 period at the Grandia Hotel on Monday (10/13/2025).

He revealed that Bandung City has consistently earned the Swasti Saba award from 2013 to 2023. This is clear evidence of the success of collaboration between the government, the community, and the private sector.

"This award is a driving force to continue fostering a culture of clean and healthy living across all levels of society," he said.

For him, FBS has an important role in coordinating various cross-sectoral efforts through nine healthy city arrangements, namely Independent Healthy Communities, Settlements and Public Facilities, Educational Units, Markets and Offices and Industry.

There are also sectors such as tourism, transportation and traffic order, social protection and disaster management.

"Through coordination and integration across these various levels, FBS is committed to being a driving force behind a clean, comfortable, healthy, and competitive Bandung," he explained.

At the same location, Aryatri M. Farhan, Chair of the Healthy Bandung Forum for the 2025–2029 period, said that this momentum is the first step to strengthen the role of FBS in increasing community participation.

"This mandate is a form of service to the community and the environment. FBS is committed to encouraging community participation in maintaining environmental cleanliness and fostering a culture of clean and healthy living from the neighborhood (RT) level up to the city level," he said.

Meanwhile, Rita Verita, FBS's Daily Chair for the 2023–2025 period, added that FBS will continue to strengthen synergies with the city government and various other stakeholders.

"FBS acts as a bridge between the government and the community to create a clean, safe, and comfortable environment. This collaborative spirit aligns with the Bandung Utama 2025–2029 vision," said Rita.

It should be noted that throughout 2023–2024, FBS has carried out various concrete activities in the field, including the construction of 28 communal septic tanks and 24 independent septic tanks serving 285 families (KK) in 2023.

Construction of an additional 10 communal septic tanks for 29 families in 2024. 5 Pillars of Community-Based Total Sanitation (STBM) outreach competition, including Stop open defecation (BABS), Washing hands with soap, Safe household drinking water management, Household waste management, Safe household liquid waste management and STBM Village Roadshow and planting 1,000 trees with Taspen Mandiri.

In 2025, the FBS innovation "Rumah MIJEL" (Household Liquid Waste Management) will be launched as a model for integrated liquid waste management in residential areas. (Bandung City Communications and Information Service/rka)
