PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. GARUT - The Garut Regency Cultural Council (DKKG) successfully held the Kabuyutan Festival with the theme "Sundanese Kabuyutan Cultural Event for the Civilization of Pancasila", at the Art Center Building, Garut Regency, Saturday (02/12/2023) evening.

The Head of the Garut Regency Tourism and Culture Service, Agus Ismail, was present and expressed his appreciation at the event. According to him, the promotion of culture is a task mandated in Law Number 5 of 2017 concerning the Advancement of Culture.

"We have an obligation to protect, maintain, develop and utilize cultural objects related to the cultivation of Pancasila. This is extraordinary," said the man who is familiarly called Agis.

Agis said that the rich culture of Indonesia, especially Garut Regency, is the foundation of a great nation. He believes that the values of Pancasila are the pillars of the strength and greatness of the nation.

"Because this is what has made us great to this day, this is what has made us strong to this day, this culture is what has made us able to stand up to this day," he said.

Agis also conveyed the importance of passing on culture to future generations, hoping that Pancasila values would continue to take root in the souls of the people.

"This mandate is extraordinary to ensure that future generations still have Pancasila within themselves," he added.

"Because this trust is an extraordinary trust, how can our children and grandchildren, maybe 3 or 4 or 5 generations from now, still have Pancasila values in their souls and selves," he said.

The chairman of DKKG, Irwan Hendarsyah, stated that the Garut Kabuyutan Festival was a forum to show that culture in Garut Regency still exists. He stated that culture is something noble and must be upheld.

In the Garut Kabuyutan Festival, several Sundanese cultures are displayed, from wayang golek to the "oray galak" debus. (rdp*)
