
PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Friday Car Free at Bandung City Hall is increasingly being enjoyed by residents. Not only employees, more and more people are also using it to exercise. There are people doing Zumba, cycling and jogging.
This time, the Acting Chair of the Bandung City TP-PKK, Linda Nurani Hapsah, was also present. He took part in Zumba exercises organized by the Bandung City Youth and Sports Service (Dispora), Friday (7/6/2024).
Linda also enjoyed every movement to the beat of music that made her body sweat. With typical zumba music characteristics from Latin to remixes of other music.
One of the residents, Nadia Aviaty (29), seemed to really enjoy the Friday Car Free at City Hall. Apart from jogging, he also takes part in Zumba gymnastics.
"It's sweatier, it's also more exciting for mothers," he said.
He strongly supports Friday Car Free or Friday without vehicles at Bandung City Hall. The reason is, it has a good impact on the environment, making it cooler.
"This is good, the air also feels fresh, free from vehicle pollution even though it's only once a week," he said.
He really looks forward to Friday arriving so he can use his time to exercise.
"I'm waiting for Friday to exercise in the morning. I'm quite sweaty," he said.
Head of the Bandung City Youth and Sports Service, Edi Marwoto, said that the presence of the Friday Car Free program is a support for the government to care more about the environment.
"This program is extraordinary. I welcome it as head of Dispora. In accordance with our vision to promote sports," he said.
He said that even though he doesn't drive once a week, at least this is an incentive for people to get used to exercising.
Apart from that, the presence of this program is also able to increase the happiness index of the people of Bandung City by exercising.
"This is to get active exercise by walking and cycling. I cycled from home, continued walking from Maluku Park to Bandung City Hall and continued exercising. This is to improve my health and happiness index," he said.
