PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin opened the Fun Run in the framework of the 79th West Java Provincial Public Works (PU) Service Day at Gedung Sate, Bandung City, Saturday (11/23/2024).

The community was very enthusiastic about participating in the running activity. In his speech, Bey invited the community to make sports a lifestyle.

"Exercise is not only during Fun Run. If possible, at least 30 minutes a day, five days a week. This is our way to prevent disease and maintain body health," said Bey.

To the Fun Run participants, Bey advised them to maintain safety and cleanliness during the event.

"Don't push yourself if you feel tired, even though the distance is only five kilometers. At the water station, don't litter, and stay enthusiastic until the finish line," he said.

In addition, Bey also gave his appreciation to the service apparatus that succeeded in combining the spirit of sport and social action in one event.

"This activity is amazing. In addition to the Fun Run, there is also blood donation, tree planting, and other activities. Thank you to all parties involved in commemorating the 79th PU Service Day," said Bey.

"This building (Gedung Sate) is very historic. There is a monument here to commemorate the PU heroes who fought to defend this building in the past," he added.

Fun Run itself is part of a series of commemorations of the 79th PU Service Day, which carries the spirit of sports, solidarity, and environmental preservation. With an inspiring theme, this activity has succeeded in reviving the spirit of togetherness and concern for health and the environment among the people of West Java.

The spirit created from the Fun Run and other social activities is expected to continue to have a positive impact on the people of West Java, while also strengthening solidarity between institutions and the community in developing West Java.
