PORTALJABAR, CIMAHI CITY - Deputy Governor of West Java Erwan Setiawan emphasized the importance of upholding integrity for officials within the West Java Provincial Government and their respective partners while carrying out their mandates and carrying out their duties.
This was emphasized by Deputy Governor Erwan when opening the Technical Guidance (Bimtek) for Families with Integrity activity, a collaboration between the West Java Provincial Government and the Indonesian Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) at the West Java Province Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDM) Hall, Jalan Kolonel Masturi Km 3.5, Cimahi City, Friday (24/7/2026).
Carrying the theme "Creating a Family of Integrity Through Instilling Anti-Corruption Values", this activity was attended by echelon II officials, namely heads of services, heads of bureaus, and heads of agencies along with their respective husbands or wives.
"To maintain integrity, there is no intention to engage in corruption or accept gratuities. The main goal is so that when their terms end, all officials can finish their duties with a good ending," said Erwan.
According to Erwan, the anti-corruption education program, initiated in collaboration with the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), is an essential preventative measure. He emphasized the importance of ensuring that lifestyle demands from family members—especially husbands and wives—do not burden their partners' duties as public servants.
"As exemplified by the KPK representative, often a person intends to work with integrity, but due to pressure from their partner, they end up falling into corruption. That's why we invite their partners to this training so they understand how to provide positive support," he said.
Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Ibnu Basuki Widodo, stated that efforts to combat corruption are not always about taking action, but also include education, prevention, and community involvement.
Ibnu said that not only the official's personal safety must be protected, but his partner must also be the main supporter so that criminal acts of corruption do not occur.
"A family or partner with integrity is one who provides peace within the household. This encourages us to live within our respective means and means. At the very least, a partner serves as a primary reminder to refrain from corruption," Ibnu explained.
He further added that the active role of all elements, from the general public and religious leaders to educators, is crucial in reminding each other and creating a corruption-free ecosystem.
