PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - A total of 1,015 private schools have signed a cooperation agreement with the West Java Provincial Education Office to accommodate students who are not accepted into public high schools and vocational schools in West Java, Monday (22/6/2026).
West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi said that the signing of this cooperation agreement proves that private schools do not reject students who have not been mapped in the New Student Prospective Mapping (PCMB).
"The West Java Provincial Government, the Education Office, has partnered with the Education Office to distribute 70,000 to 80,000 students registered in the PCMB," said KDM, Dedi Mulyadi's nickname.
According to KDM, to support students in private schools, the West Java Provincial Government will provide individual scholarships transferred directly to the schools based on the number of enrolled students. The scholarships are worth Rp 2.7 million, with Rp 1.5 million for educational contribution funds (DSP) and Rp 1.2 million for tuition fees (Rp 100,000 per month for one year).
"The budget is already with the Education Office; it just needs to be shifted. The Education Office already has allocations that can be shifted. For example, if a school is being built but doesn't have a certificate yet, it's postponed. That can be shifted or changed," explained KDM.
KDM emphasized that students who receive scholarships must fulfill several conditions, including being required to behave well and not violate applicable norms or regulations.
"The people who receive subsidies are truly good people, right? Why would the state subsidize bad people? For example, if they smoke, they get subsidized, but it's not suitable. If they smoke, they'll just pay for it themselves," he explained.
