PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. GARUT - The Garut Regional Government is preparing to hold the Garut Festival or G Fest again as the closing series for 2023. This event will take place on 27-28 December 2023 at Garut Square.

According to the Head of the Garut Regency Energy and Mineral Resources Trade Industry Service (Disperindag ESDM), Ridwan Effendi, this year's G Fest has a special touch with the theme "Rudy-Helmi One Decade Special".

This theme was chosen to honor the Regent of Garut, Rudy Gunawan, and the Deputy Regent of Garut, Helmi Budiman, who have served for almost ten years.

"Therefore, the content created not only promotes superior products in Garut Regency but also appreciates work and performance for the advancement of the trade industry in particular and the economy and welfare of Garut Regency," said Ridwan in his written statement, Sunday (24/12/2023) .

Like the previous year, G Fest 2023 will feature various activities such as arts and cultural performances, tabligh akbar, bazaar of superior products and IKM (Small and Medium Industries), investment charm night, fashion carnival competition, hijab look fashion competition, weaving festival, processed product festival chili, group gymnastics, job fair, and Music Festival.

Ridwan explained that technical preparations were almost complete and were well prepared by the event organizer and Garut vendors. The event will focus on the Garut Square area, except for the investment charm night which will be held at the Art Center Building, Tarogong Kidul District.

"Almost all of the technical preparations needed are ready and prepared, just detailing and some small things," he said.

The expected output from G Fest 2023 is the promotion of various superior products from Garut Regency. Ridwan hopes that G Fest will be able to provide awareness to the wider community regarding the economic potential of Garut Regency. Not only that, this event is also expected to be able to foster people's love for Garut Regency's superior products.

"(Apart from that, the hope is also) as an effort to improve the economy of Garut Regency through share industry (sharing industry, or what is often referred to as the sharing economy) and trade, making Garut Regency a city that supports digital-based start-ups, (and) building collaborative synergies multi-stakeholder," he concluded.
