PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Persib Bandung is increasingly confident in sitting at the top of the standings after securing three points in the continuation of the 30th week of the 2024/2025 Indonesian League 1. Maung Bandung successfully defeated PSS Sleman with a landslide score of 3-0 at the Gelora Bandung Lautan Api (GBLA) Stadium, Saturday (26/4/2025).

This sweet victory strengthened Persib's position at the top with 64 points, the result of 18 wins, 10 draws, and only two losses throughout this season.

With the additional three points, Persib is getting closer to securing back-to-back Liga 1 titles.

Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan, who was present at the stadium, looked happy watching Persib's brilliant performance. He expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the entire team.

"Alhamdulillah 3-0, hopefully just one more match. We just need to find 2 points, as long as we can win the next match," said Farhan enthusiastically.

Farhan also plans to hold a joint viewing event (nobar) in all sub-districts in Bandung City for the next away match between Persib and Malut United.

"We will try. Because it is an away game, in the match later every sub-district in Bandung City is required to hold a joint screening," he said.

Meanwhile, Deputy Mayor of Bandung, Erwin, also expressed his pride, especially because his prediction was correct again.

"Alhamdulillah, according to my prediction. Last week I predicted 2-1, it happened. Today I predicted 3-1, but it turned out to be 3-0 because I prayed that Persib would not concede," he said with a laugh.

In the match, Persib played aggressively with a dominant attack that made PSS Sleman only able to defend. The first goal for the home team was created through Gustavo Franca's header in the 18th minute.

Entering the second half, Tyrone increased their lead to 2-0 in the 49th minute through calm ball control, despite being closely guarded by two opposing players, before unleashing a measured shot into the goal.

Not stopping there, Persib continued to attack PSS Sleman's defense. Tyronne scored his second goal in the 57th minute, emphasizing Maung Bandung's dominance in this match. The score was 3-0 for Persib.
