PORTALJABAR, BEKASI REGENCY - The Bekasi Regency Education Office held the 2026 Non-Formal/Equivalency Education Interest, Talent, and Achievement Development Activity (Gema Tunas) at the Karang Kitri Campground, Karangmulya Village, Bojongmangu District, on Saturday-Sunday (July 18-19, 2026). The activity served as a forum for character building, potential development, and strengthening leadership skills for non-formal education students through scouting activities.

The Head of the Bekasi Regency Education Office, Imam Faturochman, said that Gema Tunas is a concrete form of the local government's commitment to providing space for non-formal education students to develop their interests, talents, and achievements through educational and character-building activities.

"The Gema Tunas program provides a platform for students to develop their potential, cultivate independence, and foster a sense of community. Through this program, we aim to develop a generation that is resilient, disciplined, independent, and highly socially conscious," said Imam.

He explained that the implementation of Gema Tunas is based on Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 12 of 2010 concerning the Scout Movement. These scouting activities are intended for students at Community Learning Centers (PKBM) and Learning Activity Centers (SKB) as part of strengthening non-formal education.

"The Scout Movement not only teaches skills but also builds character. The values of discipline, responsibility, courage, cooperation, and leadership are essential for students to face life's challenges," he said.

Imam added that through various activities carried out over two days, participants are expected to be able to improve their knowledge, skills, and develop positive attitudes that can be applied in daily life and community service.

"We hope all participants will enthusiastically participate in each series of activities so that the knowledge, experience, and values they gain can serve as valuable assets in their community life and support the improvement of the quality of non-formal education in Bekasi Regency," he said.

Through the implementation of Gema Tunas 2026, the Bekasi Regency Education Office continues to strengthen efforts to develop superior and character-based human resources.

"This activity also emphasizes the local government's commitment to providing inclusive, high-quality education services that are able to develop the potential of all students, regardless of their educational path," he explained.
