PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) has once again demonstrated its commitment to maintaining order and public order in the city by cracking down on several kiosks suspected of selling illegal liquor. In a surprise operation based on public reports, officers sealed four kiosks and confiscated various types of high-alcoholic beverages.
Head of Bandung City Public Order Agency (Satpol PP), Bambang Sukardi, revealed that the operation was a follow-up to many complaints from residents regarding the circulation of alcoholic beverages in several areas of Bandung City.
"We've been receiving complaints from the public about the sale of alcoholic beverages for several days now, not only in Leuwipanjang but also in other locations," said Bambang while leading an alcohol control operation in Leuwipanjang, Bandung City, on Thursday (June 11, 2026).
Before targeting the Leuwipanjang area, officers also raided a kiosk on Jalan Moch Toha. However, two other kiosks suspected of selling liquor could not be inspected because they had already closed when officers arrived.
Along the Leuwipanjang area, Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) discovered three kiosks still operating, suspected of selling alcohol. Officers seized several pieces of evidence and immediately sealed them off.
According to him, the operation was carried out without prior notice to ensure the effectiveness of the enforcement. This measure represents the government's swift response to the public's aspirations for a safe and orderly environment.
"We deliberately took impromptu action as a follow-up to residents' complaints. Therefore, we urge the public to continue reporting any violations of Regional Regulations in their neighborhoods," he requested.
In addition to alleged violations related to alcohol sales, the Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) also found indications of building permit issues, which will be investigated further. All findings from this operation will be processed according to applicable law, including through the court system for minor crimes.
Bambang said that the owners of the kiosks that had been sealed would be summoned to the Bandung City Satpol PP Office to undergo further inspection.
He also invited business actors to support the Bandung City Government's program in creating a safe, comfortable environment that is in accordance with the values embraced by the people of Bandung City.
"I hope that the liquor sellers will stop. Let's support the city government's program. Bandung is a religious city, and the community wants to create a conducive environment, especially for the younger generation," he said.
Bambang stated that the circulation of cheap alcoholic beverages like ciu and similar drinks has the potential to cause significant social impacts within the community. Therefore, the Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) will continue to monitor and take action against similar violations in various areas of Bandung City.
"We're implementing this kind of enforcement in stages, because beverages like ciu and similar drinks can have a significant social impact on the Bandung community," he said. (Bandung City Communications and Information Office/rka)
