PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG REGENCY - West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi and Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) Maruarar Sirait officially launched the home renovation program in West Java (Jabar).

Symbolically, the house renovation program, which is a program of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, through the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, began by renovating 10 houses in Kiaraeunyeuh Hamlet, Banyusari Village, Katapang District, Bandung Regency, Monday night (13/4/2026).

"I hereby officially commence the renovation of 40,000 houses in West Java with assistance from the Ministry of PKP's house renovation program," said KDM, Dedi Mulyadi's nickname, at the location of the house belonging to Mrs. Lis Mulyani, one of the beneficiaries.

KDM inspected the condition of the home of a beneficiary who works as a tailor on a daily basis.

"The Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries has provided Rp20 million, and God willing, I will provide an additional Rp20 million. This will be used to increase the capital for her sewing business," said KDM.

Lis Sumiati also expressed her gratitude to KDM and Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Maruarar Sirait who had helped renovate her house and even provided business capital assistance.

"Thank you, may this act of worship be a blessing for Mr. KDM and the Minister," he said.

Involving local communities

The house renovation program is provided to beneficiaries with a target of 10 uninhabitable houses in every village in Indonesia.

Maruarar Sirait said that this year the government plans to renovate 400,000 uninhabitable houses, with the largest number being in West Java, reaching almost 40,000 units.

Each home will receive Rp 20 million in renovation assistance to purchase building materials and pay for labor. The construction process will involve the local community and MSMEs through a public tender process called BSPS (Stimulus Assistance).

Through the BSPS public tender, the building materials procurement process will be transparent and beneficial for beneficiaries. Ten beneficiaries will form a group and then invite three nearby MSME building supply stores to compete, offering to purchase building materials at the most competitive prices.

For example, in Banyusari Village, the winning MSME (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise) agreed to build 10 houses worth Rp175 million through a public tender with a budget of just Rp164 million. Meanwhile, the cost of the laborers for the 10 houses was Rp25 million. Any remaining savings from the aid funds can be used to purchase additional building materials if needed.

Maruarar believes that this home renovation program has the potential to stimulate economic activity in various regions and provide justice for low-income communities.

Bandung Regent Dadang Supriatna stated that the BPPS house renovation allocation in his area targets 966 uninhabitable houses spread across 63 villages in 23 sub-districts.
