PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - West Java Governor, Dedi Mulyadi invited the public to convey congratulations on his inauguration in a unique form, namely rice seeds. This was conveyed through his upload on social media Instagram, as an alternative to the tradition of flower arrangements that are usually given in happy moments.

Dedi Mulyadi and Erwan Setiawan were officially inaugurated as Governor and Deputy Governor of West Java for the 2025-2030 period, in an inauguration ceremony led by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto in the central courtyard of the Presidential Palace, Central Jakarta, Thursday (20/2/2025).

This inauguration made history because it was carried out simultaneously for 961 regional heads, consisting of 33 governors and deputy governors, 363 regents, 362 deputy regents, 85 mayors and deputy mayors.

Dedi explained that giving rice seeds has a deeper meaning than flower arrangements. "I suggest that flower arrangements be replaced with rice seeds. The goal is that the seeds can continue to grow and develop, and provide benefits to many people, especially farmers," said Dedi.

He said that the rice seeds given to him will be distributed to farmers throughout West Java. Dedi hopes that the seeds given are original rice seeds which in agricultural science are marked with purple or white.

"If they are white, the seeds can be planted by school children as part of agricultural education," he added.

At the end of his message, Governor Dedi asked for prayers from all the people of West Java so that his inauguration would bring goodness and prosperity to all residents through his commitment as stated in the slogan "Overtime is managed, the city is organized. West Java is Special."

With this movement, it is hoped that the community can participate in strengthening food security and creating sustainability that has a broad impact.
