PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi accompanied by the Regional Secretary of West Java Province Herman Suryatman attended the handover ceremony for the Head of the West Java Provincial BPK Representative Office from Widhi Widayat to Eydu Oktain Panjaitan at the West Java BPK Representative Office, Bandung City, Thursday (13/3/2025).
The handover of office is based on the Decree of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Number 43/TPA of 2025 concerning the Dismissal and Appointment from and to Senior Leadership Positions within the Audit Board of Indonesia.
Followed by an excerpt from the Decree of the Secretary General of the Audit Board No. 88/K/XX.3/02/2025 concerning the Appointment, Transfer and Dismissal in and from the Position of High-Level Pratama Leadership in the Executive Board of the Audit Board.
Based on the two letters, Widhi Widayat, who previously served as Head of the West Java Province Representative Office of the BPK, is now carrying out the mandate as Director General of State Financial Audit for Region V of the Audit Board of Indonesia.
The new Head of the West Java BPK Representative Office is now occupied by Eydu Oktain Panjaitan, who previously served as Head of the North Sumatra BPK Representative Office.
On that occasion, West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi congratulated both Widhi and Eydu who both carried out new mandates.
Governor Dedi Mulyadi also asked the West Java BPK Representative Office to pay attention and audit land conversion in the West Java region, whether carried out by Perhutani, PTPN, or other parties.
According to him, haphazard land conversion results in significant state losses. When a disaster caused by land conversion occurs, the state automatically carries out recovery.
"The government distributes basic necessities, repairs the homes of affected residents, and so on," said Dedi Mulyadi.
He also mentioned that there are many dimensions that experience losses due to land conversion. First, losses due to land conversion itself. Second, losses due to the loss of carbon and water sources.
Third, losses resulting from disasters. Fourth, losses experienced by the state.
Dedi said that the state spends a certain amount of money from the APBN/provincial/district/city APBD, which of course has implications for decreasing government spending for other public sectors.
"Disaster management spending is huge, even though it could be spent on education, health, infrastructure or other public sectors," he said.
"So for me, land conversion is not only an aspect that affects ecology, but also the country's economic and financial ecosystem," said Dedi.
Chairman V of the BPK RI Bobby Adhityo Rezaldi expressed his gratitude for the implementation of the handover of office today.
Bobby said that this handover was not merely ceremonial, but in essence had an important meaning in order to maintain the continuity of the organization's functions in the future.
"I appreciate Mr. Widhi who has worked hard to build good communication with all development stakeholders in West Java," said Bobby.
To the new Head of the West Java BPK Representative Office, Eydu Oktain Panjaitan, he hopes that there will be synergy with all regional heads both at the provincial and district/city levels throughout West Java.
Supporting local government policies
In line with the Governor, Bobby admitted that his party is ready to support existing policies in the regional government.
"Because the BPK must support government policies, whatever is audited is not its policy, but a derivative of the policy which is a policy program," he said.
"Therefore, it requires synergy and support from you so that our inspection can have a significant impact," said Bobby.
Bobby also instructed the new Head of BPK to be able to run fast and work in an accelerated manner in line with the leadership of Governor Dedi Mulyadi or other Regents/Mayors in West Java.
"I think all of them (regional heads in West Java) are running very fast. I hope that the BPK ranks in the West Java region can also work faster and better than the previous period," he said.
