PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - West Java Governor, Dedi Mulyadi, said his commitment to work to resolve various problems faced by the people of West Java. He emphasized that the governor's position is not just a matter of style, but a mandate to improve the welfare of the community.

This statement was conveyed by Dedi through an upload on his official "YouTube" channel after being inaugurated as Governor of West Java. The inauguration was led by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, in the courtyard of the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Thursday (20/2/2025). Dedi highlighted the poor road infrastructure in various regions of West Java, especially the integration of village and district roads which he considered needed to be repaired immediately. He is committed to encouraging regents and mayors to pay more attention to road construction in order to facilitate public mobility.

In addition, Dedi emphasized the importance of building adequate educational facilities to overcome the problem of limited capacity in state schools. "In the future, we will ensure that schools are built well so that there is no more commotion during the acceptance of new students," said Dedi.

Dedi reminded schools not to be exploitative of students and to focus on character development, not just academics. He also highlighted the accountability of school finances, following the spotlight on several schools in West Java regarding alleged misuse of funds.

"There will be a thorough audit of the schools highlighted. The principals involved will be temporarily suspended to facilitate the inspection process," said Dedi.

Dedi also emphasized his commitment to improving access to health services by providing adequate ambulances with the capacity to provide emergency care. He also highlighted the importance of health insurance for the underprivileged.

"Poor people should no longer have difficulty getting medical treatment because their BPJS has not been paid or is not registered," he said.

Agricultural infrastructure is a special concern for Dedi to ensure the welfare of farmers and food security. He also emphasized the importance of preserving mountains and water sources.

He highlighted the need for spatial planning to prevent ecosystem damage due to excessive exploitation and illegal mining.

"Spatial planning must be improved so that there is no destruction of the ecosystem due to human greed causing environmental damage and various illegal mining exploitation and the like," he said.

For the industrial sector, Dedi stated the need to protect industry from intimidation by thuggery and ensure tax compliance and responsible waste management.

"Industry must also be obedient to pay taxes and obedient to not damage the environment by managing its waste properly. This is a small part of the task that we must build together and it is impossible to be realized by one person alone, all citizens must have the awareness to build the environment," he said.

Dedi invited all West Java residents to actively participate in building a better West Java. He emphasized that change cannot be done alone, but must be supported by the collective awareness of society.
