PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi appealed to schools to hold simple and creative class farewell and graduation ceremonies.

According to him, graduation events in the form of lavish ceremonies or study tours are more burdensome for parents. "I do not prohibit farewell or graduation events if they are carried out simply but full of creativity," said Dedi Mulyadi as quoted by KDM Channel, Thursday (27/2/2025).

According to him, farewell or graduation can be held at school by presenting entertainment from the students' own creativity. "The funds can be contributed as needed and managed by students by utilizing existing resources," said Dedi.

In this way, according to Dedi, besides being able to foster a character of mutual cooperation and creativity, it will also create a special impression because the event was created, designed and presented by the students and teachers themselves.

"I apologize if there are parties who are disturbed by this policy. But my intention in the future is to build the character of our students in a simple but effective way, that's all," he said.

"We will seriously improve education and reduce the costs incurred by parents. Moreover, the government has budgeted tens of trillions for education," said Dedi.

Dedi also has a great desire for West Java students to grow to be great, strong, competitive, tough, and able to win competitions both at national and international levels.

For this reason, Dedi invited all parties to work together to build character-based education in West Java.
