PORTALJABAR, BOGOR CITY - West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi together with Bogor Mayor Dede Rachim directly inspected the landslide location on Jalan Saleh Danasasmita, South Bogor District, Bogor City, Monday (14/4/2025).

This visit marks the initial step in accelerating the recovery of the area and building new, safer access to Batutulis Station.

KDM - Dedi Mulyadi's nickname - emphasized his commitment to restoring the affected areas in an ecological and planned manner.

He stated that the West Java Provincial Government will carry out environmental rehabilitation by replanting endemic trees to restore the area's function as a water catchment area and ecosystem protector.

"We will replant this area with endemic trees. This is not just about aesthetics, but about maintaining the ecosystem and the safety of residents," said Governor Dedi.

He also emphasized the importance of regulating commercial activities that are not in accordance with spatial planning around Mount Salak. Economic activities that are considered to disrupt the balance of nature will be regulated and directed to comply with environmental regulations.

"This area must return to being an orderly space. We cannot allow economic activities to grow unchecked," he said.

The governor said that the new road route has been measured and will be adjusted to the spatial plan, while still paying attention to ecological aspects. He targeted the construction of the new road to begin in this year's budget changes.

The land acquisition process will be carried out collaboratively by the West Java Provincial Government and the Bogor City Government, with each bearing 50 percent of the total land acquisition cost of Rp30 billion. The infrastructure development itself is estimated to require a budget of Rp10 billion.

"The budget allocation is divided in two, half from the province, half from the city," said Dedi Mulyadi.

As part of conservation efforts and the development of regional identity, Governor Dedi Mulyadi also announced that the area would be renamed "Leuweung Batu Tulis."

This area will function as a new green space with endemic plants that reflect local wisdom and environmental sustainability.

Meanwhile, Bogor Mayor Dede Rachim stated that new access to Batutulis Station will be built not far from the original location.

The new access is about 200 meters long, stretching from the Sumur 7 area and through to Jalan Danasasmita. He ensured that this route had gone through a technical study and was declared safe for use.

"We have studied this road together with a team from the Railway Engineering Center and the PUPR Ministry. Both concluded that the old route is not recommended for reuse, because it is suspected that there is a water source underneath," explained Dede.

He also explained that the land acquisition process is a challenge in itself. The Bogor City Government is currently communicating with land owners so that the process runs according to the rules and project needs.

"We have met directly with the land owners. Later we will negotiate, because of course not all of their land will be released, only according to the route needs," said the Mayor.
