PORTALJABAR, BOGOR CITY - West Java Governor, Dedi Mulyadi, made a working visit to the Batutulis Museum in Bogor City, Monday (4/14/2025). During the visit, the Governor emphasized the commitment of the West Java Provincial Government to revitalize the Batutulis Museum to become a representative Sundanese history education center for future generations.
"The revitalization of the Batutulis Museum is part of our efforts to strengthen the historical and cultural identity of Sunda. This museum must be a worthy and meaningful place of learning, especially for young people," he said.
KDM - Dedi Mulyadi's nickname - said that the physical revitalization of the museum will be carried out after obtaining official permission from the Ministry of Culture.
The coordination process with related ministries is currently underway. If the permit is granted in the near future, physical construction will begin this year.
In planning the revitalization, the West Java Provincial Government will involve historical experts, museum experts, and experienced architects to ensure that the historical narrative and architectural design of the museum reflect the noble values of Sundanese culture.
"The architectural design will emphasize local wisdom. We want to create an educational space that is not only informative, but also inspiring," he added.
The governor also emphasized the importance of historical education for the younger generation. According to him, knowing history is the key to fostering pride and respect for ancestors.
"We want our children and grandchildren to know the greatness and intelligence of our Sundanese ancestors. The Batutulis Museum must rise again as a symbol of learning and preserving history," he concluded.
