PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi confirmed that the West Java Provincial Government has canceled its loan application to PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (SMI) and will optimize budget availability in the 2026 West Java Regional Budget.
KDM - the nickname of West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi - emphasized that even though he did not take out the loan, the 2026 development program would still be implemented according to priority scale.
"We're working hard to ensure all work is completed within the next two and a half months and achieve our target of 100 percent. Is there enough money? God willing, we'll manage our finances well. Even though the profit-sharing funds are delayed, we're still speeding up construction," he said.
Therefore, he apologized to tourists visiting West Java this weekend for the traffic congestion. This was due to road construction, both hotmix and concrete.
He admitted that there was a fiscal shortfall, but with proper management there would be no need to borrow from PT SMI.
"We'll just optimize the existing budget, and at most, there will be a payment deferral. Activities scheduled for 2026 will be paid for in 2027. This is a good thing for the government, as it can continue construction without the burden of loans and interest payments," he added.
He expressed his gratitude to the West Java Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) for its continued support of development programs and budget management, ensuring targeted spending. He also expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Home Affairs for its continued guidance and direction regarding budget management.
"Of course, thank you to the people of West Java who pay their taxes on time. Without motor vehicle taxpayers, the West Java Provincial Government would certainly be powerless," he concluded.
