PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Dadan Mochamad Ramdhan, a teacher who is often called Pak Damar by his students at SMPN 20 Bandung, has an extraordinary spirit of never giving up, especially enthusiasm for teaching.
Even though he has a physical disability, it doesn't stop Dadan from achieving his dreams. In accordance with his life motto "If you have a dream then you have a will, if you have a will then you have a way".
"In the beginning, my family didn't actually allow me to become a teacher, because perhaps due to my limited physical condition, my parents at that time were very worried because the university was far away," said Dadan to Public Relations Bandung.
However, with enthusiasm and self-confidence, Dadan finally tried to continue his education at university, specifically at the Nusantara Islamic University (Uninus) majoring in Indonesian Language Education.
“I taught for the first time in 2019. At that time I was afraid. Are the children able to accept me or not? But as time goes by, I actually get more enjoyment. "I have received many blessings from the children," he said.
With the enthusiasm and sincerity he gave while teaching his students, this led to Dadan being selected as one of the outstanding ASNs in the city of Bandung.
"With the traumatic feelings that I felt when I was at university, saying I was disabled and so on, that has become an extraordinary motivation for me to keep moving and creating," he said.
On the occasion of National Teachers' Day 2023, he conveyed a message to teachers in Indonesia to always be given patience and ease in carrying out printing in order to produce a superior and virtuous generation of the nation.
"Because a teacher is not just a shaper and transmitter of knowledge, but also a pioneer in opening the door to insight and knowledge for his students. "Dream from small things, the universe will support you when the energy is channeled well," he said. (Diskominfo Bandung City/UPI)
