PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Inflation in general in West Java is safely under control. H+6 Eid al-Fitr situation, on Tuesday (16/4/2024), shops and markets have started operating as usual. The contribution of food commodity prices to inflation is still the same as the previous day's prices.

In general, food commodity prices in West Java are still the same as commodity prices on last Tuesday (16/4), however there is one commodity that has experienced a decline in price, namely red chilies, which were originally IDR 90,000 per kg to IDR 73,000/kg.

West Java Provincial Regional Secretary Herman Suryatman said, although inflation is generally under control, the team continues to strive to ensure stocks of basic necessities are maintained and there are no fluctuations in demand.

"The psychology of demand must be maintained so that there is no excessive surge in demand because when there is a lot of demand it will be exploited by traders who take advantage of the situation," said Herman Suryatman in Bandung City, Wednesday (17/4).

Apart from that, Herman said, supervision in traditional and modern markets has also been increased to ensure that there are no unfair pricing practices or hoarding of goods.

"Coordination is also carried out with producers, traders and consumer associations to prevent unreasonable price increases and ensure smooth and efficient distribution of goods," he said.

He added that monitoring of district/city food commodity prices in West Java continues to be carried out as well as outreach to the public about the importance of being wise consumers by shopping not excessively, according to needs.

Meanwhile, traffic flow on a number of homecoming and returning routes as well as tourist routes in West Java tends to be normal and smooth. Peace and public order (trantibum) are also in a safe and controlled situation.

"In general, there are no transit disruptions in the West Java-DKI, West Java-Central Java or West Java-Banten border areas," said Herman.

Then related to health care and basic services in the field are also under normal control.

"However, the health team remains alert at the health posts, coordinating with the nearest hospital and anticipating if complete medical action is needed," he said.
