PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Election Supervisory Agency or Bawaslu of West Java Province held a Socialization on Strengthening the Neutrality of State Civil Apparatus or ASN in the 2024 Simultaneous Elections.
Chairperson of West Java Province Bawaslu Zacky M. Zam Zam, socialization was carried out again to strengthen and remind, currently the election stage process has entered the peak stage, namely the campaign stage.
"This socialization activity regarding ASN neutrality is not the first for ever, but the umpteenth for ever," said Zam Zam, in the West Hall of Gedung Sate, Monday (22/1/2023).
"Because we see that there is an urgency to remind us again that in the momentum of the 2024 elections, we see that our development is at the peak stage, namely the 2024 election stage," he added.
Zam Zam stated that his party had identified cases of alleged violations involving ASN in the West Java region.
According to Zam Zam, in the 2024 elections, Bawaslu identified 20 cases of alleged violations involving ASN in the West Java Province region from 27 regencies/cities.
"20 of them, 8 cases related to the neutrality of ASN, 8 cases related to the neutrality of village heads, and 4 cases related to the neutrality of village officials," he said.
Zam Zam said, based on reports received by West Java supervisors and Bawaslu colleagues in city districts, this was part of a reminder that election organizers were actually continuing to take preventive measures.
"Of course we are synergizing with regional government elements, long ago we have carried out many prevention activities against potential violations. But in reality there are still cases related to ASN neutrality that occur in the West Java Province region," he said.
Therefore, according to Zam Zam, with this strengthening activity it is hoped that ASN will re-strengthen the commitment of ASN to be neutral, uphold the neutrality of ASN as regulated in Law 20 of 2023 concerning ASN and the regulations covering this election in Law 7 of 2017 and confirmed through a joint decision letter from institutions, such as the Ministry of Home Affairs, Kemenpan RB and Bawaslu.
"Mr. Mrs. PJ Regent/Mayor, who is part of the ASN staffing supervisors in their respective environments, re-strengthens our commitment to be neutral, to uphold the neutrality of ASN," he said.
“ASN has the political right to vote which is protected by law. "But ASN's expression of political alignment can only be implemented in voting rooms and not in public spaces," he said. (rdp*)
