PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Government ensures that the prices of basic necessities in traditional and retail markets remain stable, even though a number of commodities such as chilies have experienced a price decrease in recent weeks through routine monitoring by the Bandung City Trade and Industry Office (20/6/2026).
Head of the Distribution and Trade Division of Metrological Supervision at the Bandung City Trade and Industry Office, Meiwan Kartiwa, said that monitoring results showed that prices of basic necessities were still under control, with several commodities actually experiencing a decline.
"Our monitoring results from last Thursday showed that, thank God, the prices of basic necessities remained relatively stable. In fact, some commodities, such as red cayenne pepper and Tanjung red chili, experienced a decline compared to previous weeks," said Meiwan.
Meiwan explained that price fluctuations generally occur in vegetable commodities, which are influenced by weather conditions, while main commodities such as eggs remain stable.
The price of red cayenne pepper is recorded at around Rp60,000 to Rp80,000 per kilogram, while red Tanjung chili is in the range of Rp40,000 to Rp60,000 per kilogram.
"The price of chilies is currently tending to fall compared to the previous few weeks," he said.
For broiler chicken, prices are still below the government's reference price of around Rp38,000 to Rp40,000 per kilogram, while beef varies between Rp130,000 to Rp150,000 per kilogram depending on the type and quality.
"Beef prices vary due to varying qualities. There's lean, inner cut, outer cut, and thigh, so the prices vary," he explained.
Meanwhile, cooking oil prices have stabilized again after previously experiencing an increase.
"The price of cooking oil is currently remaining stable, there will be no further increases," he said.
The Bandung City Government also continues to run a regular low-cost market program to help the public obtain basic necessities at more affordable prices. The last one was held before Eid al-Adha and will be held again in the third quarter around September 2026.
