PORTALJABAR, WEST BANDUNG REGENCY - To commemorate the 42nd National Children's Day, the West Java Center for Education Quality Assurance (BBPMP) held an event to strengthen their shared commitment to providing quality, inclusive, safe, and enjoyable early childhood education (PAUD) services. The event took place at the Lingga Buana Hall of the BBPMP West Java Jayagiri Campus, Lembang, on Wednesday (August 5, 2026).
The Advisor to the Dharma Wanita Persatuan of the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, Masmidah Abdul Mu'ti, emphasized that National Children's Day is an important momentum to strengthen the commitment of all elements of the nation in fulfilling children's rights, while ensuring that every Indonesian child receives quality, safe, inclusive, and enjoyable educational services.
According to him, the vision of Golden Indonesia 2045 can only be realized if Indonesia is able to prepare a generation that is healthy, intelligent, has character, is creative, and has global competitiveness. "Education must be a space that makes every child happy, liberates, and empowers them," he said.
He explained that the government, through the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, continues to strengthen educational transformation, from early childhood education (PAUD) to secondary education. Strengthening character education, improving the quality of learning, child protection, and implementing one-year compulsory preschool education are strategic steps to ensure that no child is left behind.
Masmidah also appreciated the West Java BBPMP, the local government, PAUD mothers, teachers, education personnel, and all parties who continue to collaborate to improve the quality of educational services for Indonesian children.
In addition, he reminded the importance of implementing the Seven Habits of Great Indonesian Children in the school and family environment as part of character building from an early age.
"To educators, continue to be role models, motivators, and learning companions for students. Create a learning environment that is safe, comfortable, free from bullying, respects diversity, and fosters the best potential in every child," he said.
Family is the Foundation of Children's Education
Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the West Java PKK Movement Team, Samantha Dewi, said that every child has the right to get the best start in life and education.
According to him, the implementation of Compulsory One-Year Preschool Education is a joint effort to ensure that every child has the opportunity to grow and learn in a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable environment.
He emphasized that a child's first education begins in the family. "Parents are the first teachers, and the family is the first school. When families provide love, role models, and attention, children will grow into individuals with self-confidence, character, and readiness to learn," he said.
Samantha also invited the government, schools, teachers, parents, and the community to continue strengthening collaboration in fulfilling children's rights.
"I hope the commitment made today won't stop at signing the declaration, but will be realized through concrete steps for the future of West Java's children. Because happy children today are great leaders tomorrow," he said.
Strengthening Collaboration to Create Quality Early Childhood Education
Meanwhile, the Head of BBPMP West Java, Komalasari, said that National Children's Day is a momentum to strengthen the synergy of all stakeholders in providing quality PAUD services.
According to him, the implementation of One Year of Compulsory Preschool Education is one of the priorities of educational development as a foundation for character formation, development of basic skills, and readiness of children to enter elementary education.
"Through this program, the government strives to provide quality, inclusive, safe, and enjoyable early childhood education services. Its success requires collaboration from all stakeholders, including the central government, local governments, educational institutions, families, communities, and the business world," he explained.
This activity was also attended by the Head of the Special Education and Special Services (PKLK) Division of the West Java Education Office, Firman Oktora, district/city PAUD mothers, educators, and various other education stakeholders.
On this occasion, the Safe and Fun School Declaration was also carried out and certificates were awarded to district/city PAUD mothers as a form of support for the implementation of One Year Compulsory Preschool Education in West Java.
