PORTALJABAR, CIREBON REGENCY - West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi is confident that Cirebon Regency will become the best tourist city like Yogyakarta.

According to KDM – Dedi Mulyadi's nickname – Cirebon has everything to be a tourist destination, starting from arts and culture, culinary, and cultural heritage buildings.

"I said that Cirebon will later become the 'Yogyakarta' of West Java," said Governor Dedi Mulyadi at the Special Plenary Meeting for the 543rd Anniversary of Cirebon Regency at the Cirebon Regency DPRD Building, Monday (21/4/2025).

One potential that KDM noted was megamendung batik that has performed in the national and international arena. According to him, megamendung must remain the trademark of West Java.

"The Cirebon Regency Government must continue to develop innovations in the typical Kacirebon style of clothing, because (batik) megamendung has become a trademark of West Java today," said KDM.

To realize Cirebon as a tourist destination like Yogyakarta, KDM is committed to helping the Regency Government organize the Batik Trusmi area to be more beautiful and orderly.

Sidewalks for pedestrians will be improved, traditional transportation such as pedicabs and horse-drawn carriages will be beautified and regulated.

"We jointly design the sidewalks to be arranged well. The entire area to the Batik Trusmi area must be arranged well immediately, the traditional market must be fixed immediately. The pedicabs must be restored and given paintings," he said.

"The Regent and Deputy Regent with a new spirit, hopefully can synergize with the West Java Provincial Government for Cirebon Mentereng," added Governor Dedi Mulyadi.
