PORTALJABAR, WEST BANDUNG REGENCY - A joint team from various elements, starting from Basarnas, BNPB, BPBD, TNI-Polri, to volunteers, continues to search for victims affected by landslides in Pasirlangu Village, Cisarua District and Sukajaya Village, Lembang District, West Bandung Regency (KBB).

Abdul Muhari, Head of the Disaster Data, Information, and Communication Center at the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), stated that, according to preliminary data as of 5:00 PM WIB (Western Indonesian Time) on Sunday (January 25, 2026), the joint search and rescue (SAR) team had found 14 victims in Pasirlangu Village. Meanwhile, in Sukajaya Village, Lembang District, two people had died.

In addition to the fatalities, 76 residents in Pasirlangu are reported to be unaccounted for. "This figure is preliminary and will continue to be verified in the field," Abdul said in a press release issued by the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) on Sunday (January 25, 2026).

The identified victims have been handed over to their families. Meanwhile, those who have not yet been identified remain at the Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) Post.

Heavy equipment has been deployed to search for victims still buried by the landslide. However, the unstable ground conditions pose a challenge for the joint SAR team in carrying out the search operation.

To date, the West Bandung Regency BPBD together with joint agencies are still conducting further data collection and monitoring at the affected locations, including searching for victims and collecting data on affected houses.
