PORTALJABAR, WEST BANDUNG REGENCY - As of Thursday (January 29, 2026), 41 bodies of landslide victims in Pasirlangu Village, Cisarua District, West Bandung Regency (KBB) had been identified. Twenty-five victims remain missing from the landslide at the site.

The head of the Bandung Search and Rescue Office, Ade Dian, stated that on the sixth day of the landslide search, Thursday (January 29, 2026) at 4:30 p.m. WIB, two bodies were found. The two bodies have been handed over to the West Java Regional Police's Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) team for identification, which will allow for the identification of more victims.

SAR operations, Ade continued, are being conducted in a measured manner, adjusting to weather conditions and slope stability. If rainfall increases, SAR operations will be temporarily halted for the safety of the joint SAR team personnel.

Ade said the weather at the landslide site was unpredictable on Thursday (January 29, 2026). Light to moderate rain, limited visibility, and increased soil saturation contributed to the high potential for landslides.

"We ask for prayers that the entire SAR team will be protected in carrying out this humanitarian task," said Ade in Pasirlangu Village, Thursday (29/1/2026).

To support the search for victims, the joint SAR team received an additional 14 personnel from the Lampung National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas). Numerous volunteers also continued to arrive to assist in the search.

The joint SAR team was also assisted by the availability of 17 pieces of heavy equipment at the landslide location.

The search for landslide victims will enter its seventh day on Friday (January 30, 2026). Ade stated that his team will evaluate the seven-day search to determine the next steps.

Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relations for the West Java Regional Police, Senior Commissioner Hendra Rochmawan, stated that on the sixth day of the search and rescue operation, physical changes were observed in the bodies of the landslide victims found. However, identification of the remains was still possible through fingerprints and other specific characteristics.
