PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The West Java Provincial Government held a ceremony to commemorate the 60th National Health Day in 2024 at the West Java Provincial Level in the front yard of Gedung Sate, Bandung City, Tuesday (12/11/2024).

National Health Day, which is held every November 12, this time takes the theme "Move Together, Be Healthy Together", which in essence invites all components of society to realize health together.

At this moment, the Head of the West Java Health Service, Vini Adiani Dewi, said that in an effort to realize shared health, which is related to clean and healthy living behavior, six important things can be done, known in the jargon "Smart".

*We have the slogan "Cerdik", an abbreviation of regular health checks, eliminating cigarette smoke, being active, having a balanced diet, getting enough rest, and managing stress," said Vini Adiani Dewi.

"We have to move optimally so that our endurance increases. The requirement is to move for 30 minutes at least every 30 days, but don't stop," he added.

In addition, Vini also delivered various events in the series of National Health Day at the West Java Province Level, one of which was an activity related to preventing stunting.

The series of activities include sports competitions, performance assessments of companies committed to health, women's empowerment, as well as various webinars, which will culminate on December 6, 2024, including the Clean Friday activity.

Vini hopes that by implementing Clean Friday again, cases of dengue fever (DBD) will be reduced.

Although dengue fever cases have not increased, he appealed to the public to remain prepared and alert.

"In 2024, DBD will still occur. Now is the rainy season, we must prevent flooding and disease. God willing, we will remind the public to carry out Clean Friday, which will start in the cities of Bandung and Cirebon," he said.

Mumps disease

Vini also mentioned that currently the cases that are currently trending are chicken pox and mumps.

Even though this disease does not cause death, if many people get sick it is still troublesome, which ultimately affects the family's economy because they need money for treatment.

"The cause is a virus. The disease heals itself with good immunity. So, to the public, if a family member has mumps or chicken pox, they should be separated from other family members and not go to school yet," said Vini.

He reminded mumps sufferers to rest for at least seven days from the time symptoms appear because after seven days they are no longer contagious.

"Take a week off before starting activities. That is to prevent transmission to other people. There is one school with 25 people (sick with mumps) out of hundreds of people. The transmission will be fast if not anticipated," Vini stressed.
