PORTALJABAR, BEKASI REGENCY - The first day of the School Environment Introduction Period (MPLS) for the 2026/2027 Academic Year, at SMP Negeri 1 Tambun Selatan, Jalan Pendidikan II No. 100, Tambun Village, Tambun Selatan District, Monday (15/7/2026), was filled with enthusiasm. Parents were seen seeing their sons and daughters off to enter a new level of education with full hope.

The Head of the Bekasi Regency Education Office, Imam Faturochman, said that the first day of school was a memorable experience for students because they received direct support from their parents as they began their educational journey in a new environment.

"This first day, I saw an aura of happiness from the parents who were sending their children to school. Hopefully, this moment will be a beautiful memory and motivation for the children as they begin the 2026/2027 academic year," said Imam.

He explained that MPLS is an important period for students to get to know the school environment and at the same time develop their ability to adapt to a new learning culture.

"We urge all parties to create a safe and comfortable atmosphere for students during their introduction to the school environment," he said.

According to Imam, all school principals, teachers, and MPLS committee members must ensure that activities are educational and free from all forms of bullying and violence.

"Ensure there is no hazing, no violence, and nothing that undermines the goals of MPLS. Teachers, educational staff, and students must work together to build a positive school environment," he stressed.

He added that the success of MPLS is not only measured by the introduction of school facilities, but also by the growth of a sense of security, comfort, and self-confidence in new students.

"Let's support students with heart and empathy so that the 2026 Friendly MPLS can truly be realized in Bekasi Regency," he said.

Regarding the possibility of violations during the implementation of MPLS, the Bekasi Regency Education Office ensures that it will follow up on every report in accordance with applicable regulations.

"If anything untoward happens, we will of course follow up in accordance with the regulations. However, we hope that with the support and collaboration of all parties, such incidents will be prevented," Imam explained.

Responding to the issue of limited school capacity that emerged during the new student admission process, Imam acknowledged that the ratio of learning spaces, infrastructure, and the number of teaching staff in Bekasi Regency was still not entirely ideal.

"We continue to strive to provide the best service. The role of private schools is also crucial in expanding access to education, as not all students can be accommodated in public schools," he said.

He confirmed that various issues that had arisen had been addressed and hoped that the entire educational process in the new academic year would proceed conducively.

"Thank God, the issues that arose have been resolved. Hopefully, similar issues will no longer occur in the future, and education services in Bekasi Regency will improve," he said.
