PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Every September 1, the Indonesian National Police (Polri) commemorates Women's Police Day (Polwan). The people of Bandung City expressed their hopes for Indonesian policewomen who have been present in providing service, protection, and care to the community.
The existence of female police officers is not only an important part of the police institution, but also a figure who is expected to be able to build closeness with the community through humanistic services.
Athala, a student, hopes that in the future, policewomen can become closer to and more protective of the community. Furthermore, she hopes that policewomen can inspire Indonesian women to boldly pursue their dreams and contribute to the nation.
"My hope is that in the future, female police officers can be closer to the community and provide more protection, and can be an inspiration for women out there who want to become female police officers," she said.
Neneng, as well as Naila and Safira, two high school students, also expressed other hopes. They hoped the policewomen would continue to carry out their duties by upholding the truth and always siding with the community.
"Continue to defend the people and defend what is right," said Neneng.
Meanwhile, Naila and Safira hope that the presence of female police officers can have a positive impact on the wider community and be an inspiration for women.
"Hopefully, the female police officers can have a positive impact on the wider community and inspire women in the future," they said.
