PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The West Java Provincial Government gave kadeudeuh to outstanding students at the commemoration of National Santri Day at Gedung Sate Bandung, Tuesday (10/21/2024).

The students who received the kadeudeuh from the West Java Provincial Government were members of the contingent who succeeded in becoming champions in the Musabaqoh Tilawatir Quran (MTQ) XXX/2024 event in East Kalimantan, September 2024.

One of the students who received a kadeudeuh was Aliyudin (24), the first place winner in the men's decoration calligraphy category. The student from Karawang Regency received a kadeudeuh of Rp. 90 million which was symbolically handed over directly by the Acting Governor of West Java, Bey Machmudin.

"Alhamdulillah, I am very happy and proud, there is appreciation for the champions. (Kadeudeuh) This is a form of appreciation, and hopefully in the future it will increase even more," said Aliyudin.

He also hopes that the appreciation from the Provincial Government will be a motivation for other students to continue to deepen their religious knowledge and spread the Islamic religion.

Sofi Nur Zakiah (26), who was the third winner of the women's decorative calligraphy competition at the national MTQ in East Kalimantan, received a prize of Rp. 50 million.

"Alhamdulillah, I am grateful to receive an award from the Acting Governor, Mr. Bey Machmudin. I am very happy, and hopefully in the future it will be even better," he said.

Sofi admitted that she would use the kadeudeuh money she received to pay for her studies at the KH Ahmad Sanusi Institute, Sukabumi. "The plan is to use the money for college education," she said.

In addition to MTQ students, the West Java Provincial Government also provides assistance to students with disabilities. Zaenal Arifin (22), a blind student from the Tahfiz Islamic Boarding School in Sekegawir, Cimenyan District, Bandung Regency, was happy to receive assistance.

"Alhamdulillah, hopefully this will be a good deed for the Acting Governor and also be an encouragement for us students to continue learning," said Zaenal.

West Java today commemorates National Santri Day centered at Gedung Sate with the theme 'Continuing the Struggle to Embrace the Future'. Acting Governor Bey Machmudin acted as the instructor for the National Santri Day commemoration ceremony.
