PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG REGENCY - Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin became the Instructor of the 96th Commemoration Ceremony of Youth Pledge Day at the Archery Field in the Si Jalak Harupat Stadium area, Bandung Regency, Monday (10/28/2024).

During the ceremony, Bey Machmudin read out the remarks of the Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia, Ario Bimo Nandito Ariotedjo.

Bey said that the commemoration of the 2024 Youth Pledge coincided with the transition period for the new government, which would orchestrate the steps of the Indonesian nation to realize medium-term development targets.

"That is the basis for achieving the long-term development target of 2045, namely the realization of Golden Indonesia which is characterized by increasing progress and prosperity, as well as a stronger role for the Indonesian nation in the global arena," said Bey.

He also said that the momentum of the commemoration was an opportunity for the Indonesian nation to pay greater attention to youth development agendas.

An important part in Indonesia's development, both in the position of youth as the subject of development and the object of development.

"As a subject of development, some Indonesian youth have the ability to actively participate in various national development sectors, even in the SGDs (Sustainable Development Goals) agenda," said Bey.

"In other parts, Indonesian youth still need empowerment services to build their hidden potential until that potential becomes a strength in leadership, pioneering, and entrepreneurship," he said.

Bey hopes that young people will play a greater role in Indonesia's national development, because in essence, young people are the owners of the future.

Therefore, it is very appropriate that the momentum of the 2024 Youth Pledge Day commemoration carries the theme 'Advancing Together with Greater Indonesia'.

"It conveys a message to all of us, to improve and advance various elements of youth services to achieve the condition of a great Indonesia, a great Indonesia, a prosperous Indonesia," said Bey.

In addition, the role of local government is very important to drive youth services. Bey said the role is manifested in the form of good and sustainable youth policies and programs.

"And it is realized in the form of a regional action plan (RAD) for youth services that is oriented towards increasing the IPP (Youth Development Index) which is adjusted to the conditions of each region," he said.

Therefore, every effort to improve youth policy at the regional level deserves the highest appreciation.

"Because it will have an impact on expanding the scope and reach of youth services so that there is not a single young person who does not receive services," he said.

Bey also invited every element to take various steps to develop youth potential through activities that encourage the development of creativity and innovation of Indonesian youth.

"Let us together open up opportunities as widely as possible for Indonesian youth to participate in all dimensions of Indonesian development according to their respective competencies and passions," said Bey.
