PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin appointed Herman Suryatman as Regional Secretary of West Java Province. The inauguration took place in the West Hall of Gedung Sate, Bandung City, Monday (1/4/2024).

Herman was inaugurated based on Presidential Decree Number 36/TPA of 2024 concerning Dismissal and Appointment from and to middle and high leadership positions within the West Java Provincial Government.

"First of all, on behalf of the West Java Provincial Government, I would like to welcome Brother Herman Suryatman, who today has officially served as Regional Secretary of West Java Province," said Bey in his remarks.

Before being appointed as West Java Regional Secretary, Herman Suryatman served as Acting Regent of Sumedang replacing Regent Dony Ahmad Munir and Deputy Regent Erwan Setiawan whose terms of office ended on September 20 2023.

After the inauguration, Herman Suryatman officially replaced Taufig Budi Santoso, who previously served as Acting West Java Regional Secretary since October 3 2023.

On this occasion, Bey thanked Taufiq for his dedication while on duty for the significant progress of West Java development.

Such as the progress of the construction of TPPAS Legok Nangka, TPPAS Lulut Nambo, plans to build the Greater Bandung LRT, and most recently the construction of the Bandung Intra Urban Toll Road (BUTR) which was delayed for 17 years.

"I also want to thank Mr. Taufiq Budi Santoso, for his dedication while serving as Acting Regional Secretary for West Java. Even though you have only worked for a matter of months, your contribution has become part of the very significant progress of West Java Province," he said.

During his six months of service as Acting Governor of West Java, Bey saw that the condition of West Java in the future must be better than today, so he asked Herman to be more optimal in carrying out his duties as the new regional secretary.

To all levels of the West Java Provincial Government, Bey also invited him to provide full support to Herman.

"Let's face the existing challenges together with a spirit of togetherness, honesty, maintaining good government governance with high integrity," he said.

Bey also reminded Herman of facing a number of challenges in West Java, including improving the quality of public services, reducing the prevalence of stunting, poverty levels, unemployment rates, waste management, public transportation and natural disaster mitigation.

"Waste management must be better, using public transportation, maintaining economic growth, controlling inflation and mitigating natural disasters," said Bey.

Responding to the mandate and support given to him as West Java Regional Secretary, Herman said he would immediately work in accordance with his main duties and functions as regulated by law.

"The first thing is of course grateful. In essence, this is permission from Allah SWT. Then what I will do, the first is referring to the main duties and functions as regulated in the West Java Governor's regulations," said Herman.
