PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. PURWAKARTA - West Java Regional Secretary Herman Suryatman reminded the spirit of the New Student Admissions (PPDB) held by the West Java Education Department that all junior high school graduates can register and continue their studies at the SMA/SMK/equivalent level.

Because of this, Herman asked the committee to have a backup plan with a manual list to anticipate that the online system cannot be fully accessed by parents, especially in rural areas where there may be no hardware (cellphones, computers, laptops) or no internet.

"All junior high school children must 100 percent register for PPDB, make sure there is not a single child who does not register. What will happen next can be discussed later. Just register first, and don't be constrained just because of the platform," said Herman Suryatman at the 2024 PPDB Meeting at the Office Department Branch Office (KCD) IV Purwakarta Regency, Monday (27/5/2024).

"Prepare a space (manual registration channel), if there is no internet, if there is interference and it is really blocked, even though you want to register," added Herman.

To the 13 existing KCD heads, Herman reminded that 12 years of compulsory education is a community right guaranteed by Minister of Education and Culture Regulation Number 19 of 2016 concerning the Smart Indonesia Program.

"All citizens, children, have the right to receive learning without exception, that is the basic principle. Don't let it happen because we want order to forget the basic rights of society, the basic rights of children," explained Herman.

According to Herman, it is natural that 12 years of compulsory education is an indicator of the success of PPBD implementation. The reason there is no money is no longer an obstacle to getting an education.

"So the target is to be one of the indicators of the success of PPDB (West Java) for all children to be able to register. There's no reason why the cost issue can be discussed, because it's a pity for people working overtime who are still financially limited, so make it as easy as possible," he said.

"Prepare the manual route, you will be tired . But basically not a single child will not register for PPDB 2024," added Herman.

Herman reminded that the opportunity to become a successful person is the right of all children. Therefore, continuity of education in obtaining learning must be obtained by all children in West Java and remote areas.

"All these children are great, all children have the same opportunity to become president, all children have the same opportunity to become generals. Don't judge, and all children are smart," he concluded.
