PORTALJABAR, CIAMIS REGENCY - The Ciamis Regency Government distributed 156 free glasses to students in commemoration of the 54th Family Empowerment and Welfare Movement (PKK) Unity Day (HKG).

The distribution of glasses took place at the PKK Hall of Ciamis Regency (2/9/2026) as support for eye health and the learning process of students.

The assistance was provided to elementary, middle, and high school students in Ciamis Regency.

The glasses assistance is the result of support from the Lion's Club through the West Java Women's Empowerment, Child Protection and Family Planning Service.

In addition to students, the Social Security Administration for Employment also provided assistance to two PKK cadres and two Posyandu cadres.

Ciamis Regent Herdiat Sunarya expressed his appreciation for the assistance as a form of concern that provides direct benefits to the community.

Herdiat also appreciated the PKK cadres from the district, sub-district, and village levels who assisted in community services.

"I always remind you, it's not the OPD, sub-district heads, or village heads who help the PKK, but the PKK cadres who help us, the sub-district heads and village heads," Herdiat emphasized.

According to Herdiat, the network of cadres down to the family level makes the PKK play an important role in helping the government address community needs.

He encouraged PKK cadres to continue providing service through various programs to improve family quality in Ciamis Regency.

"Continue to do good and serve the people of Ciamis Regency. Hopefully, the PKK will continue to progress and grow stronger," he hoped.

Herdiat assessed the role of families and the Family Welfare Movement (PKK) as crucial in sustainably preparing a superior generation towards Golden Indonesia 2045.

"We have a program to create a golden generation by 2045. The role of the Family Welfare Movement (PKK) is crucial. It's not as easy as turning over your hand; it takes time and starts with the family," he said.

The Ciamis Regency Government is also encouraging collaboration between various parties to accelerate stunting reduction through the New Zero Stunting movement.

The Head of the Ciamis Regency PKK Team, Kania Ernawati Herdiat, said that HKG is a momentum to evaluate the implementation of the 10 Main PKK Programs.

"HKG is not just an annual event, but a reminder of the PKK's identity as a movement that grows and operates alongside Indonesian families," he said.

Kania emphasized that the PKK program must address family needs through health, education, social, economic, and community empowerment sectors.

The 54th HKG series also included cabaret and choir performances by PKK cadres to enliven the event.

These social actions and activities demonstrate that the PKK program can provide concrete benefits for the health, education, and protection of community cadres.
