PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. MAJALENGKA - Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin attended the Special Plenary Meeting for the 534th Anniversary of Majalengka Regency at the Majalengka Regency DPRD Building, Friday (7/6/2024).

To all stakeholders and community figures present, Bey hopes that the anniversary of Majalengka Regency can stimulate all levels of society to unite to bring prosperity to its people.

"Happy 534th anniversary to all the people of Majalengka Regency. Of course we hope that together we will make Majalengka a more advanced and prosperous society," said Bey when met after the event.

This is in line with the Majalengka Regency Anniversary theme, namely "Panceg Pageuh Ngarumat Majalengka". According to Bey, this theme means that all Majalengka people should unite to build their region to be more advanced.

"Hopefully the theme of Panceg Pageuh Ngarumat Majalengka can be an encouragement for all of us to continue to unite, work together in building and maintaining Majalengka," he said.

To realize this, the Regional Government of West Java Province will continue to be committed to supporting the progress of Majalengka Regency in various fields.

"Various development programs have been and will continue to be continued, such as infrastructure development, improving the quality of education and developing the people's economy," added Bey.

Meanwhile, the Acting Regent of Majalengka, Dedi Supandi, said that he would change the stigma about Majalengka being called a retirement city on the occasion of Hadi's 534th anniversary.

"We have to change the nickname Majalengka as a retirement city. We hope that Majalengka is an elderly-friendly city, not a retirement city," he said.

"What does it mean, if there is no activity in a retirement city, but if it is an elderly-friendly city there is activity," said Dedi.
