PORTALJABAR, CIAMIS REGENCY - The commemoration of the 81st anniversary of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) in Ciamis strengthened the closeness of soldiers with the community.
The 81st Anniversary Ceremony of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) took place at the Ciamis Pendopo Yard on October 5, 2026 with the theme "TNI Strong Together with the People, Indonesia Sovereign, Just, and Prosperous."
The Commander of the 0613/Ciamis Military District (Dandim), Lieutenant Colonel Antonius Ari Widiono, emphasized the professionalism of soldiers and their closeness to the community.
Antonius appreciated the dedication, loyalty, hard work, and devotion of soldiers and State Civil Apparatus (ASN) of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) to the nation.
According to him, public trust is the result of devotion and a mandate that must be continuously maintained by every soldier.
"The stronger the TNI and the more modern its capabilities, the greater the responsibility we must shoulder," said Antonius.
Strengthening the TNI is not only done through improving the welfare of soldiers and modernizing defense and security equipment.
Improving the competence and professionalism of personnel is necessary to face the dynamics of the ever-evolving strategic environment.
Antonius emphasized the importance of making PRIMA a culture in every soldier's performance of duties, namely Professional, Responsive, Integrative, Modern, and Adaptive.
"Implement these five emphases consistently, so that PRIMA becomes the direction for developing the TNI's capabilities in thinking, behaving, and acting, now and in the future," he said.
Professional values are realized through mastery of tasks, training, legal compliance, and carrying out responsibilities with full integrity.
A responsive attitude is needed so that soldiers are able to read changes and recognize potential threats early on amidst the dynamics of the strategic environment.
The integrative aspect is realized through collaborative work between local governments, the Indonesian National Police (Polri), and the community.
Modern and adaptive capabilities are directed at mastering technology and learning from assignment experiences to deliver innovation.
The series of events for the 81st anniversary of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) in Ciamis also featured commando dance and drum performances involving various elements.
The activity continued with free meals by providing around 2,000 portions of food for the people of Ciamis Regency.
Food provision involves micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) from various sub-districts through the Koramil ranks.
The involvement of MSMEs also opens up space for community participation in celebrating the 81st anniversary of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI).
Antonius said that the series of activities were deliberately packaged simply while still prioritizing the meaning of togetherness and friendship with the community.
"Today's commemoration is quite simple, not overly lavish. But we can take away the meaning of togetherness and mutual respect among ourselves and other elements of society," he said.
The activity was also attended by the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) of Ciamis Regency and Banjar City.
The presence of various elements shows the importance of working together to maintain security, order, development and community welfare.
Antonius hopes that the 81st anniversary of the TNI will strengthen the spirit of service and increase public trust in the TNI institution.
"Hopefully, in the future, the TNI will become more professional, more loved by the people, and more advanced, sovereign, just, and prosperous," he said.
The commemoration of the 81st anniversary of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) is a momentum to strengthen defense through the professionalism of soldiers, closeness, trust, and togetherness with the people.
