PORTALJABAR, CIAMIS REGENCY - Thousands of people crowded the Ciamis Grand Mosque to perform Eid al-Adha prayers for 1447 Hijriah on Wednesday (May 27, 2026). The Ciamis Regency Government utilized the momentum of this religious holiday to reinforce moral messages, social solidarity, and a spirit of togetherness in regional development.

On that occasion, Ciamis Regent H. Herdiat Sunarya was unable to attend due to health reasons. The Regent's address was delivered directly by Ciamis Police Chief Hidayatullah before thousands of Eid prayer congregants.

In its remarks, the Ciamis Regency Government emphasized that Eid al-Adha is not merely a religious ritual, but rather a momentum to strengthen the values of sacrifice, sincerity, and social concern amidst the increasingly complex challenges of the times.

"Eid al-Adha is not just a religious ceremony and the slaughter of sacrificial animals, but also contains important lessons about sincerity, sacrifice, patience, submission, and total obedience to Allah SWT," said the Police Chief while reading the Regent's message.

The Ciamis Regency Government believes that regional development is determined not only by infrastructure but also by the moral character of its people. Therefore, Eid al-Adha serves as a reminder of the importance of maintaining unity, strengthening mutual cooperation, and building a religious and harmonious community.

The government also encourages the public to maintain social awareness through the spirit of sharing with others, especially those in need.

"The strength of a region is not only determined by the progress of its infrastructure, but also by the quality of the morals and character of its people," he stressed.

Eid al-Adha prayers in downtown Ciamis proceeded safely, orderly, and solemnly. The Ciamis Regency Government expressed its appreciation to all parties, including the sacrifice providers, who contributed to maintaining the solemnity and spirit of sharing during this year's Eid al-Adha celebrations.
