PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Eid al-Adha prayers for 1447 Hijriah were held solemnly and spread throughout Bandung City. A total of 18,036 sacrificial animals were examined for their health ahead of Eid al-Adha.

The Mayor of Bandung, Muhammad Farhan, said that the implementation of Eid al-Adha prayers at the city level would be centered at the Al-Ukhuwah Mosque.

"Eid al-Adha prayers in Bandung City are being held in all sub-districts. So far, thank God, everything has gone smoothly, and the weather has been good. The city government is centralizing the prayers at the Al-Ukhuwah Mosque," said Farhan on Wednesday, May 27, 2026.

The Bandung City Government also ensures that all sacrificial animals inspected are healthy and fit for slaughter.

Farhan revealed that, based on the results of the Bandung City Government's inspection, a total of 18,036 sacrificial animals had their health checked ahead of Eid al-Adha this year.

"We examined a total of 18,036 animals. Sixty-five percent of them were sheep and goats," he said.

He ensured that all sacrificial animals were in healthy condition and fit to be slaughtered. Inspections and supervision will also continue until the day of Tasyrik.

"Everything is in good health and fit, and now we are combing through every cut," he said.

According to him, supervision is carried out to ensure that the slaughtering process meets standards and that the distribution of sacrificial meat runs smoothly to the beneficiary community.

"Until the day of Tashrik. God willing, we will also be on a tour to observe and ensure that the animals are slaughtered according to established standards and that the offerings are properly and correctly distributed to those who mustahik," he said.

Farhan also invited the public to make Eid al-Adha a reflection of gratitude and a spirit of sacrifice for the city of Bandung.

"From January 2026 until today, we have received countless blessings in various forms of happiness. However, the challenges remain enormous," he said.

"Therefore, let's together promote the spirit of sacrifice for the city of Bandung, for the people of Bandung, so that we can become even better in the future," said Farhan. (Bandung City Communications and Information Service/rka)
