PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Ahead of the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year celebrations, the Bandung City Regional Government together with the Bandung Police have appealed to the public to celebrate with full awareness of safety, order, and cleanliness.

To keep Bandung conducive, Bandung Police Chief, Senior Commissioner Budi Sartono admitted that he had prepared security through Operation Lilin Lodaya 2024 involving 1,221 joint personnel from various agencies.

A total of 21 strategic posts, including security posts, service posts, and integrated posts, have been established to keep Bandung City conducive.

However, officers also need the active role of residents so that the city of Bandung remains conducive. Here are some things that can be done to make the city of Bandung conducive:

1. Avoid Using Flares and Dangerous Fireworks

Residents are advised not to bring flares or fireworks that could endanger themselves or others during New Year celebrations.

2. Prioritize Safety in Crowded Places

Bandung Police Chief said that security will be focused on churches, tourist attractions, stations, and shopping centers. Therefore, the public is expected to remain vigilant and follow the directions of officers in the field.

3. Respect the environment by not littering

Acting Regional Secretary of Bandung City, Dharmawan, reminded the importance of maintaining the cleanliness of the city during the celebration. The cleaning team will work extra after the New Year celebration until early morning to ensure Bandung remains clean and comfortable.

4. Orderly Traffic

The public is asked to obey traffic rules, considering the possible increase in vehicle volume during the Christmas and New Year holidays.

5. Enjoy Your Holidays Wisely

Residents are advised to avoid excessive activities that could disrupt public order. Celebrating at home with family can be a safer alternative.

As an anticipatory measure, the Bandung City Regional Government has also temporarily stopped all road excavations from December 18, 2024 to January 3, 2025 to reduce congestion.

"We want to provide comfort for the community during the year-end holidays. We also continue to coordinate to ensure optimal public services," said Dharmawan.

With support from all parties, it is hoped that Christmas and New Year in Bandung can run smoothly, safely, and remain memorable.

For further information regarding Nataru security and activities, the public can access the official website of the Bandung City Government or contact the nearest complaint post. (Bandung City Communication and Information Service/Revo)
