PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Inflation in Bandung City was reportedly under control in September 2025. According to the Statistics Indonesia (BPS) inflation report for Bandung City on Thursday (October 2, 2025), the month-to-month inflation rate was 0.16 percent, lower than the 0.21 percent for West Java and the national average.
On an annual basis (year-on-year), Bandung City's inflation rate was recorded at 2.10 percent. This figure is still below West Java's inflation rate of 2.19 percent and the national inflation rate of 2.65 percent.
Meanwhile, year-to-date (ytd) inflation is at 1.45 percent, lower than West Java (1.57 percent) and the national level (1.82 percent).
The report also noted that the main contributor to inflation in September 2025 came from the food, beverage, and tobacco group, with a contribution of 0.14 percent.
Commodities that are affected include broiler chicken, red chilies, cooking oil, and gold jewelry.
In addition to inflation, the BPS report also noted developments in the tourism sector. The hotel occupancy rate (TPK) in Bandung City in August 2025 was 52.43 percent, down 3.16 points compared to July.
In detail, the ROR for star-rated hotels was recorded at 56.38 percent, experiencing a decline, while the ROR for non-star-rated hotels actually experienced an increase of 37.87 percent.
The average length of stay for hotel guests during the same period was recorded at 1.44 nights, with an increase in non-star hotel guests.
In terms of economic growth, Bandung City recorded an economic growth rate (EGR) of 5.42 percent in the second quarter of 2025. This figure is higher than the first quarter of 2025, while also surpassing the achievements of West Java and the national economy.
Meanwhile, the percentage of poor people in Bandung City in March 2025 was recorded at 3.78 percent, a slight decrease compared to the previous period.
This record shows that people's purchasing power remains maintained amidst the dynamics of basic necessities prices.
