Sukahaji Incident, Mayor Reminds All Parties to Respect Legal Process and Keep Bandung Conducive

PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan is deeply concerned about the clash between residents of Sukahaji Village and related parties in the Satata Sariksa Gg area, Babakan Ciparay District on Monday, (21/4/2025).

Farhan invited all parties to respect the ongoing legal process in order to maintain a conducive situation.

Farhan said that the Bandung City Government (Pemkot) regretted the incident between local residents and other parties regarding land issues in the area.

According to Farhan, the Bandung City Government understands that the incident was triggered by differences of opinion regarding the plan to install land boundaries by a private party.

In this case, the City Government appreciates every aspiration from the community as long as it is conveyed.
in a peaceful manner and within the corridors of applicable law.

"We are certainly very concerned and hope that all parties can exercise restraint to prevent similar incidents from happening again in the future. Let us all respect the ongoing legal process until there is a final and binding decision," he said.

In connection with this, Farhan continued, the Bandung City Government conveyed
several things, namely appealing to all parties to refrain from actions that could worsen the situation and keep the situation conducive.

It is hoped that all parties will take a peaceful path and not take provocative actions.

"We certainly encourage problem solving through dialogue, mediation, and fair and transparent legal mechanisms. The government believes that communication and deliberation are the keys to resolving conflicts that occur," said Farhan.

He also ensured that the rights and security of all residents remain the main priority of the Bandung City Government.

Bandung City Government is committed to continuing to protect the community and create a sense of security for all parties.

"We also really appreciate the quick steps taken by the security forces who continue to be at the location and fully support the steps taken by the security forces in maintaining order and public safety at the location of the incident," he said.

The Bandung City Government, Farhan continued, also reminded that the legal issues related to the area are currently still being processed in the Court. Therefore, all parties are asked to respect and wait for the results of the legal process until there is a final decision.

Moreover, the West Java Provincial Government, as a policy maker at the regional level, has intervened and is seeking various resolution steps that prioritize justice and long-term solutions for all parties.

As an initial step, the Bandung City Government has also instructed related ranks to conduct monitoring and a persuasive approach to prevent escalation of conflict in the area.
