PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) recorded investment realization of IDR 6.4 trillion in the first half of 2026 and is targeting IDR 12 trillion by the end of the year.

Head of the Bandung City Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Agency (DPMPTSP), Eric Mohamad Atthauriq, said the achievement increased from the first quarter to the second quarter.

"Thank God, the trend of investment realization in Bandung City has increased relatively from the first quarter to the second quarter or the first semester. The current position is around IDR 6.4 trillion," said Eric at Bandung City Hall on August 17, 2026.

Domestic Investment (PMDN) is the largest contributor, accounting for around 82 percent of the total investment.

Meanwhile, Foreign Direct Investment (PMA) contributed around 15 percent and shows the opportunity to strengthen international investment in Bandung City.

The DPMPTSP targets investment realization of IDR 11.9 trillion in 2026, with an optimistic target of reaching IDR 12 trillion.

"The official target is Rp11.9 trillion. But yesterday, the Mayor asked, 'Can it be Rp12 trillion?' Well, that's the hidden target," he said.

The Bandung City Government encourages investment through an investment trilogy consisting of the Bandung Investment Forum, Investor Day, and the Bandung Investment Summit.

The program will be held again in 2026 with an Investor Day agenda scheduled for August 19, 2026.

"In 2026, we will be implementing another investment trilogy. We also plan to hold Investor Day on August 19th," explained Eric.

The DPMPTSP also cuts licensing stages to speed up services for business actors and professionals in Bandung City.

One of them is the issuance of a Practice Permit (SIP) for health workers, which is now processed in two stages, up from the previous five stages.

"Previously, there were five layers, but now we've narrowed it down to just two. This is one of our efforts to simplify the licensing process," he said.

The Ministry of Investment assessed this service by including Bandung City in the nomination of the six best cities in Indonesia for integrated one-stop services.

"Thank God, Bandung City has been nominated as one of the six best cities in Indonesia for integrated one-stop services," he said.

From a business perspective, real estate was one of the PMDN sectors that again showed growth during the first half of 2026.

"What's quite surprising is that in the first semester, one of the domestic investment sectors that has started to see a revival is real estate," he said.

Eric assessed that this growth was a positive signal for economic activity as well as an opportunity to open new business activities and economic fields.

"With various innovations and the acceleration of our integrated services, Bandung's economic trends will improve in the future," said Eric.

Air connectivity is also expected to boost investment once flights resume at Husein Sastranegara International Airport in Bandung.

"Transportation and communication facilities are one of the triggers for economic growth in Bandung City," he said.

Improved air access is expected to boost the culinary sector, micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and facilitate easier access for investors to Bandung.

"The culinary and MSME sectors are also experiencing growth. Secondly, investors will also be able to come and explore Bandung more quickly and easily," he said.

Eric hopes that Husein Sastranegara Airport's international connectivity will also open up greater opportunities for foreign investment to enter Bandung City.

The Bandung City Government is optimistic that simplifying licensing, connectivity, and investment promotion will encourage investment realization to reach the target by the end of 2026.

"We're working hard because one of the keys to achieving our goals is hope and optimism. Hopefully, Bandung will improve even further," he concluded.
