PORTALJABAR, GARUT REGENCY - Secretary of the Republic of Indonesia Saber Pungli Task Force Inspector General. Pol. Andry Wibowo emphasized that Indonesia as a great nation must implement cultural, religious, and ideological values to build national integrity. He invited all parties to start implementing the norms that have been believed in for a better future.

"Moreover, we welcome the new government, which indeed in its ata acita (in point) 7 includes efforts to prevent and eradicate criminal acts of corruption," said Inspector General of Police Andry, while providing material at the Socialization of the Prevention of Extortion (Pungli) at Health Service Facilities, Thursday (10/24/2024). The activity took place in the Hall of the Garut Regency Health Office, Jalan Proklamasi, Tarogong Kidul.

Andry also highlighted that Garut Regency is not an area that is a hotspot for extortion, and hopes that this condition will be maintained.

"Qualitatively, I think Garut is not part of the hotspots that are issues discussed at the central level. Well, that is also an achievement," he said.

This socialization event was initiated by the Garut Regency Health Service (Dinkes) with the aim of increasing the understanding of health workers regarding the dangers of extortion, as well as strengthening their commitment to preventing such actions in their work environment.

Acting Regent of Garut Barnas Adjidin expressed his appreciation for the initiative of the Garut Regency Health Office in preventing extortion practices in health service facilities.

He emphasized the importance of joint commitment from all parties to combat extortion and corruption, especially in the Health Facilities of the Garut District Health Office. He emphasized that corruption and extortion should no longer occur, especially in health facilities.

"And it must become something that has become part of the culture, so that we don't allow what is actually prohibited," said Barnas.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Garut Regency Health Office, Dr. Leli Yuliani, emphasized that her party has committed to creating an Integrity Zone towards a Corruption-Free Area (WBK) and a Clean Serving Bureaucracy Area (WBBM). According to her, this Integrity Zone is not just a slogan, but a service standard that must be realized together, especially for health workers who deal directly with the community, and have a moral and legal responsibility to ensure that every service provided is truly free from extortion.

He acknowledged that there were still reports of extortion from the public, but with this outreach, it is hoped that health workers will increasingly understand the importance of transparency and integrity in providing services.

"However, we cannot close our eyes to the fact that extortion still occurs in several health facilities. This is a challenge that must be faced seriously. Through this socialization, we hope to increase understanding and commitment to prevent extortion in every service line," said Dr. Leli. (Garut Communication and Information Service/Revo)
