PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The West Java (Jabar) Provincial Government and Selangor, a Malaysian state, have agreed to establish cooperation in trade and investment. The collaboration will begin with a two-day conference at the Pullman Hotel in Bandung, from Thursday (July 9, 2026) to Friday (July 10, 2026).

Head of the Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Agency, Dedi Taufik, said that on the first day, the conference was opened by remarks from West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi and Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan.

Both parties will then hold presentations. The West Java representative will present the West Java infrastructure plan, while the Selangor representative will present industrial developments in the state.

The conference will also feature a panel discussion on potential cooperation in supply chain, business, and finance between Indonesia and Malaysia.

Furthermore, on the second day, the Selagir delegation plans to conduct field visits to several industrial centers in West Java to explore collaboration in the fields of aerospace, railways, creative industries, energy, property and technology.

"This conference aims to encourage industrial investment and foster long-term partnerships between two economic powerhouses, Selangor and West Java," said Dedi, Sunday (July 5, 2026).

The conference also provided an opportunity for Malaysian and Indonesian institutions to collaborate, for example between Universiti Selangor and Bandung Institute of Technology, Tourism Selangor and Batik Air, Tourism Selangor and the Association of Indonesian Travel Agencies (Asita), and Women Empowerment Selangor and Bappenas.

Dedi said that the collaboration between the two parties involved the West Java Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Invest Selangor Berhad, an investment institution in Selangor.

The conference also featured 30 booths from Selangor health and education institutions, including Ampang Putri Specialist Hospital, MSU Medical Centre, Kajang Plaza Medical Centre, Universiti Selangor, Universiti Tenaga Nasional and Universiti Islam Selangor.

Not stopping at the conference in Bandung, said Dedi, the cooperation between the two parties will be followed up at the Selangor International Business Summit 2026 on October 14-17, 2026 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center (KLCC) Malaysia.
