West Java Finalizes Development of Jatinangor City of Digital Knowledge

BALI -- West Java Province Regional Secretary Herman Suryatman is discussing with various parties to finalize the development of the Jatinangor area with the concept of Jatinangor, City of Digital Knowledge or digital knowledge city.

Herman explained the concept of Jatinangor, City of Digital Knowledge, to practitioners, digital technology academics, the foreign business world, and government, as well as to get input. The meeting was entitled Business to Government (B2G) Sunset Networking: Sustainable Collaboration which was held in the Jimbaran Hub area, Badung Regency, Bali, Tuesday (21/5/2024).

"There are lots of new insights, we discussed earlier with friends from Bappenas, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of PUPR, practitioners, academics, the business world and also the Director of FabLab Barcelona," said Herman.

During the meeting, Herman explained how to build a city so that its people are prosperous and sustainable.

"The main key to making this happen is not just the capacity of digital technology but requires collaboration, courage and action from stakeholders," he said.

The main focus of the development of Jatinangor, City of Digital Knowledge, is the development of the knowledge industry from the manufacturing or traditional industrial sector, and emphasizes the creation of an independent community with strong digital literacy.

Herman said that the development of Jatinangor, the City of Digital Knowledge, requires the support of technology startups, collaboration and innovation hubs, blended finance, and efficient use of resources.

"Collaboration and sharing knowledge is very important regarding how we build a sustainable smart city by piloting the smart city that we are creating, namely Jatinangor, City of Digital Knowledge," said Herman.
