PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Governor Dedi Mulyadi will utilize trains to maximize the tourism potential of West Java.
"The train is actually the cheapest transportation route," said Dedi Mulyadi during the Railway Coordination Meeting: Reactivation Plan and Construction of New Railway Lines at Bale Gedung Pakuan, Bandung City, Tuesday (15/4/2025).
According to the Governor, trains can support tourism because of their mass and anti-traffic jam nature. "(Trains) This is mass transportation, because mass transportation is easy to mobilize people," said KDM -- Kang Dedi Mulyadi's nickname.
In the coordination meeting, KDM also explained a number of priority programs of the West Java Provincial Government in encouraging public transportation that can provide benefits to the community.
"Electrification (of KRL) is the initial target to at least resolve traffic congestion in Bandung City and its surroundings," he said.
Not only in Bandung City, West Java will also reactivate the Bandung - Pangandaran railway line. "Our closest reactivation is the railway line from Bandung to Pangandaran. That's only up to Banjar, we make that our first priority to complete," said Governor Dedi Mulyadi.
In addition to the Bandung - Pangandaran railway line, West Java will also revive the railway line in Garut, the railway line from Bogor-Sukabumi-Cianjur to Padalarang, and also the Bandung - Ciwidey railway line to anticipate traffic jams during the holiday season.
