PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - PT Pindad as a domestic defense manufacturing company participated in displaying its superior products, namely AM-1, Komodo and Maung at the Defense Service Asia (DSA) Exhibition and Conference which took place from 6 - 9 May 2024 at Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Center (MITEC), Kuala Lumpur.

The Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia, M. Herindra together with the Director General of Pothan, Major General TNI Piek Budyakto also inspected the PT Pindad exhibition and booth.

In this exhibition, PT Pindad together with 10 other Indonesian companies joined the Indonesia Defense Industries pavilion led by the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia.

Deputy Main Director of PT Pindad, Syaifuddin, who was accompanied by the Director of Production, Budhiarto, revealed that PT Pindad's participation in this exhibition was one of the strategic steps to encourage PT Pindad's achievement in entering the global market.

"Pindad's participation in DSA this time is related to one of PT Pindad's achievement targets, namely to become a top global company, of course this must be accompanied by an increase in the export portfolio of several of our products to the global market," he said in a press release from Pindad Public Relations.

Syaifuddin further added that PT Pindad needs to always improve product quality through technological innovation by following the latest technological developments.

"We also need to always improve the quality of our products by carrying out technological innovations by following the latest technological developments and then we must apply them to improve the quality of the products we make," he added.

Syaifuddin considers Malaysia to be one of the partners for collaboration that can be optimized to become one of PT Pindad's export targets.

The products that are the main target in the Asian market are related to product protection, including Malaysia which has expressed its interest in purchasing PT Pindad products, especially weapons, munitions and combat vehicles.

In 2024, PT Pindad has a target to increase in terms of exports, of course its achievements are expected to continue to increase from previous years.

At DSA 2024, PT Pindad is displaying three products, the first is the AM-1, which is a 5.56 x 45 mm NATO caliber assault rifle with a Gas Operated & Piston working principle. This rifle has a barrel length of 14.5 inches and is equipped with a telescopic stock that can be stretched backwards (retracted). This assault rifle has a total length of 881 mm with the stock fully extended and 797 mm with the stock in the normal position.

The following product displayed is the Komodo tactical vehicle variant designed for reconnaissance missions. This vehicle is designed to move quickly and precisely in every mission. Equipped with a 215 HP diesel engine with Turbo Charger Intercooler, this vehicle is capable of reaching a top speed of 80 km/h on the highway, with a cruising range of 450 kilometers.

The third product displayed is the Maung 4x4 Operational Vehicle, a vehicle produced by PT Pindad which is intended to support cruising operations in various terrains. Maung has agile and reliable maneuverability to support the mobility of its users in various operating theaters. Using a 136 HP diesel engine, this tactical vehicle can travel at a safe speed of 120km/hour and has a range of up to 650 km. (guh)
