PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Government officially started the Passive Telecommunication Infrastructure (IPT) Implementation project on Jalan Merdeka, Friday (21/6/2024).
In implementing this IPT Project, the Bandung City Government collaborates with PT. Bandung Infra Investama (BII) and PT. Joint Smart Network (JPB).
Referring to Government Regulation (PP) No. 46 of 2021 concerning Postelsiar, passive telecommunications infrastructure is buildings above and underground as a means of supporting the placement of telecommunications equipment. Some examples include ducting, towers, poles, manholes and tunnels.
PT BII President Director Asep Wawan Darmawan explained that the construction of telecommunications infrastructure will take place over three years until May 2027. This includes 148 roads with a road length of 137 km and a total network length of 274 km.
"This is a big step to reduce overhead cables in this city, beautify the city's aesthetics, and increase the efficiency of telecommunications network management," explained Asep.
Asep said that this infrastructure project will support the placement of telecommunications equipment, accelerate the transformation of Bandung City towards a Smart City, and improve the Electronic Based Government System (SPBE).
"PT BII and JPB will work together with the City Government to ensure this project runs smoothly and on schedule," explained Asep.
Meanwhile, Daily Executive (Plh.) Bandung City Regional Secretary Hikmat Ginanjar said that this project is part of the vision of the City of Bandung.
"This project is part of the big vision of the city of Bandung to become a superior and comfortable city," said Hikmat.
"We are committed to accelerating the development of telecommunications infrastructure which will be an accelerator for achieving this vision," he added.
Hikmat appreciates the support from all parties involved in this project.
"We invite all elements of society to work together to make this project a success. We really appreciate every input and suggestion to create a better Bandung," said Hikmat.
"This year we will target 9 roads including Jalan Merdeka, Jalan Perintis Independen, Suniaraja, Lembong, Viaduct, Tamblong, Veteran, Banceuy, and Kebon Jukut," he explained.
With the start of this project, it is hoped that the city of Bandung will become more comfortable and attractive for its citizens and visitors from outside the city.
"Let's protect and build the city of Bandung so that it becomes a better and more enjoyable place for all," hoped Hikmat Ginanjar.
Meanwhile, Assistant for Economy and Development for the City of Bandung, Eric Mohamad Atthauriq, apologized to the public if there were any traffic obstacles during the IPT construction process.
"We are sorry that in the future there will be disruption to activities on the main road. The organizers said it would not last more than 3 days and hopefully not longer," said Eric. (Diskominfo Bandung City/Revo)
