PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The West Java Provincial Government has established cooperation with Guangxi Transport Vocational and Technical College (GTVTC) for the development of human resources (HR) in the fields of vocational, urban and rural transportation systems, and science and technology (IPTEK).

This collaboration was marked by the signing of the Implementing Arrangement between the West Java Education Office and GTVTC. The document was signed by the Dean of Road and Bridge Engineering School GTVTC and witnessed by the Deputy Governor of West Java, Erwan Setiawan, at Gedung Sate, Bandung City, Monday (3/24/2025).

Deputy Governor Erwan welcomed the collaboration with one of the best educational institutions in Nanning City, China. As an initial step, the West Java Provincial Government will immediately send educators to attend New Energy Car Technology training at GTVTC.

"Today, a cooperation agreement in the field of education has been signed, hopefully it will bring benefits to the people of West Java and Indonesia in general," said Erwan.

The teaching staff who will take part in the training at GTVTC include Nurholis Kamaludin from SMKN 7 Garut, Adi Gunawan from SMKN 6 Bandung, Erga Dian Permana from SMKN 1 Pusakanagara, Dani Budiman from SMKN 1 Rancaekek, and Cecep Dalda Astamalya from SMKN 7 Baleendah.

Erwan emphasized the importance of this cooperation in supporting the development of technology in West Java. According to him, mastery of new technology is very much needed to face future challenges and improve the quality of life of the community.

"This is also in order to achieve the vision and mission of West Java as a special place," he said.

The cooperation between the West Java Provincial Government and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Government is not the first. Previously, on May 5, 2017, the two parties established a Sister Province cooperation until 2022, which was then extended on July 26, 2023 until now.

Several forms of cooperation that have been realized include sending donations and medical equipment for handling Covid-19, scientific collaboration between the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Padjadjaran University (FPIK Unpad) and Guangxi University for Nationalities, West Java's participation in the China-ASEAN Expo 2024, training for vocational school teachers at Liuzhou City Vocational School, and electric vehicle grants.

"We have established a Sister Province relationship since 2017 and renewed it in 2023. This cooperation is not just ceremonial, but truly provides real benefits for the people of West Java," concluded Erwan.
