PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Regional Government of West Java Province this year targets domestic tourist visits to West Java to reach 100 million people. Meanwhile, foreign tourist visits are targeted at 1 million people.

"We are targeting this year to reach 100 million domestic tourists and at least 1 million foreign tourists visiting West Java," said West Java Regional Secretary Herman Suryatman in Bandung City, Friday (7/6/2024).

According to him, this target has increased from before. There will be 85 million domestic tourists visiting various tourist destinations in West Java in 2023. Meanwhile, there were 740,000 foreign tourists.

Herman is optimistic that the targets set this year and next can be achieved. The key is Pentahelix's collaboration, one of which is with tourism service actors.

"I'm sure this target can be achieved, as long as we work, collaborate, sabilulungan," said Herman.

This optimism is driven by strengthening tourism sector regulations, improving facilities and facilitating access to tourist destinations.

"The West Java Provincial Government will strengthen regulations, improve facilities and budget. That is our commitment," he said.

Herman said that tourism is one of the strategic sectors to boost the rate of economic growth. Therefore, the West Java Provincial Government pays high attention to tourism development.

"We continue to increase the rate of economic growth and one of the strategic sectors to move the wheels of the economy in West Java is tourism. Therefore we are paying serious attention to tourism development," he said.

West Java has abundant tourism potential spread across every district and city, from beaches, seas, mountains to the creative economy. West Java's complete package means tourist visits continue to increase every year.

"West Java's tourism industry continues to be enthusiastic, as can be seen from tourist visits which always increase every year," said Herman.

West Java's commitment to increasing tourist visits was welcomed by one of the tourism service actors, the Indonesian Recreation Park Business Association (PUTRI).

Chairman of PUTRI West Java, Taufik Hidayat, said that his party was ready to support various government programs in an effort to increase tourist visits.

"We are happy that the Regional Secretary has a high commitment to advancing West Java tourism and we are ready to support government programs," said Taufik.
